Longing

When passion plays upon the brain
    it turns the world to gold.
All things are happy, pure, and bright,
    our joy is uncontrolled.

It makes us glow of happiness
    and hold each other tight
And think the world's a perfect place,
    where everything is right.

I long for you, to hold you close,
    to know your gentle kiss.
For in your arms my soul is warm,
    my spirit melts with bliss.
If I could wish upon a star
    and make my dreams come true,
The only thing my wish could be
    would be to wish for you.
